Behind the neoclassical façade of 16 rue de la Loi in Brussels are the offices of the Prime Minister's policy unit, made up of his political advisors, and the Chancellery, his administrative departments.
The federal public service:
- organises the meetings of the Council of Ministers to ensure that the decision-making process within the government is carried out
- organises the meetings of the Consultation Committee and the Trade Union Negotiating Committees so that cooperation between the federal structures takes place
- provides substantive support to the Prime Minister and for the coordination of government policy (more: Directorate-General for Secretariats and Coordination)
- communicates the government’s decisions to the outside world (more: Directorate-General for External Communication)
- coordinates administrative and budgetary monitoring of federal cultural institutions:
